What is ethical? I've been a heavy nail biter for a few years now and my husband thought if I get nail tips it'll stop the habit. I figued why not, I've tried everything else. The guy who did them did a great job, but I never know how much to tip him and I'm afraid I might be over doing it. But the way I see it is, he'll remember me for next time and do a good job. But I just want to kow what the standard is???

Saying the bill is $18 (for the fill in) and they came out really good... what would be an average tip?

10% for a mediocre job, 15% for an average job, and 20% for a great job. So, you could give 4 or 5. I wouldn't care about tipping low in a bad place, I'm not going back there.

i would give $5-$7cause then i feel cheap with a couple ones, unless its all i had on me in cash at the time. With nails & ped usually $10. I've done the same thing tipped a little one time and compensated for it the next.

Twenty percent, darling especially if you are going to frequently the salon. And my dear, you can never over tip. Tipping is showing your appreciation of a job well done.

i would say five dollars is a good amount. you can never over tip. You have to remember that this is a place that you are going to continue to go to so if you want to continue to recieve good work then make sure you tip well!

15 to 20% but my guy always gives the hook up in case one breaks so i give him 35%
