Yes its just fruit gnats, theres aren't thousands or even hundreds just enough to be annoying. We have tried keep all fruit and all food covered and in the fridge or covered if its on the shelves. But they have even invaded our bath soaps! Just cant get rid of them though.

Are they fruit gnats? Do not throw fruit peels in the garbage can or especially trash cans you do not empty out often. Usually blood sucking gnats do not hang around a single apartment room. They will usually spread out evenly to all people. If there were so many blood sucking gnats, the county would have them exterminated. Watch your potted plants for gnats too. You'll want to disinfect them somehow. Ask your local plant store.

Get an electronic bug zapper. They had a set at Costco that included an outdoor zapper and an indoor zapper. It was $29. Put the outdoor one on your patio and the indoor one inside and that should help. Also there are some little sticky boxes that you can put around and they will stick to those. You can buy those in the yard and garden department at Wal Mart or Target.

If you dont' want to use bug spray, which is hard with gnats because you have to chase them with it.

Light a candle (preferrably a nice sweet smelling scented if you can stand the smell). Sounds crazy but it draws them (especially in darker rooms) and they kind of commit suicide. Everyone I know who has tried it....Swears by it!
