I would like to know what kind of tree has pods hanging from it that look like big, long green beans. Thanks.

Reynwater brings up a good point. There are many trees that develop "bean" pods. Some more info. could help us narrow it down. What do the leaves look like? does it have flowers? when? what do they look like? Where do you live? (hardiness zone)

Almost every one has suggested catalpa... it has a very definite 10-18" long bean pod. It has large 'spade' shaped leaves. It flowers in the late spring here (southern Michigan). It could also be Kentucky Coffee Tree (Gymnocladus). That has large ferny leaves, and more 'pea' like pods.

I hope that his helps
Good luck-
