i only sell LCD tvs because plasmas are too short lived.....it's said if you want a 42" or lower...go with the LCD...if you want more than 42" widescreen...then obviously you have the money to throw away anyways and a plasma will give you better quality at that size. i sell HDTV LCD tv's which have vga imput for your computer as well...mine go from 23'' widescreen...up to 42'' widescreen and are priced under what you can get the same tv at the store for.

I just went thru deciding the same, after many different trips to same stores different locations (best buy circuit city) LCD is the better choice. This is because the plasma does fade, and the life is shorter than the LCD. LCD's are nothing more than large computer flat panel screens, hence why now you can buy a "flat panel monitor" from dell and the likes for both TV and computer work....

Go with the LCD, and definately choose High Definition LCD, it's better than the others!

They both have their pluses and minuses, however when the LCD eventually burns out you have to replace the LCD. when the plasma fades and goes out you have to replace a 200 to 600 dollar tube. Other than what you may use it for, more cash now or more cash later is your choice. That said, my choice for a monitor would be LCD even watching a little TV Through your tuner card. but when it's primarily used for TV viewing, bigger is better and plasmas can be bigger and less intolerant of ambient light sources fading your picture.(ever try to look at your cell phone LCD in direct sunlight)?

Deffinatly Buy an LCD, Plasma.. expires after a certain amount of time.. and eventually dies out... LCD on the other hand.. might cost a little bit more.. but will never expire... the only bad thing about lcds.. is if u run it hot for a long amount of time... the pixels tend to burn out and u have bright white "burn holes" on your screen.. So my advice is go with LCD.. but dont leave it on for too long =) hope i helped!

Hi,
Me personally i would get a LCD because its more reliable than a plasma.. after a couple of years a plasma bulb will be gone.. and once thats gone the whole tv is useless.. also plasmas are more likely to get dead pixels.

Definetly go with LCD. The plasmas fade over time and eventually you will not be able to see anything. The LCD will stay the same.

dpends what you wanna watch. LCD has great resolution but can blur for very fast images, plasma has poor contrast. Overall though I would go with plasma, better brighter images, wider viewing angle, no blurring for action movies.
