we took a trip to the ocean once,decided to go a day before we could check in to our room & the only room we could find was damn nasty .I have seen slums that was cleaner

Yep, Globe, Arizona - beds were lumpy and hard as rocks, but it was the only bed in town.
Outside Washington, D.C. it was the bug carcasses that got us moving.
And then there was Edinburgh, Scotland. We went up three flights of stairs (and had asked for ground floor due to my grandmother), found the rooms overly warm and crowded, and when the spread was pulled down, the sheet underneath was partially yellow. We checked out and went to a Holiday Inn where we ordered room service. Ah, the excitement.

I checked into a hotel once that asked to see my
" I.D. like a methadone card or something."
The room even came with a 1/2 pack of cigarettes on the counter.It wasnt dirty though.

Two different times we checked in, saw the room, checked back out and slept in the car. UGH! Once was at the beach and once was in the Smoky Mountains.

yes,in texas,out in the desert,it was a days inn,the door wouldnt lock or even stay closed,i had to push a chair up against it,and the carpet looked like something out of a trash dumpster,the furniture was all broke,it was a nightmare,but it was 3 am and we were tired

Yes. I stayed at a Comfort Inn in Utah. We had a bad expeirience. My sister went swimming and her hair turned green, also this one guy complained about cockroaches.
