I work a job where I stand all the time for 8 hours a day , 5-6 days a week. Recently my foot has had some mild burning sensation to it, particularly at the top region, spread out, but I have been ignoring it. Tonight, as I got out of my car and stood up, I felt a very severe burning sensation, much worse than before on my foot in the same area...like something exploded in there...just wondering what it may be before I head to the doctors. Please don't tell me to go see the doc, because I will, I just want to see what it may be first. thanks.

I've had some type of burning feeling on the top of my foot also. I used a chamomile lotion and rubbed it on. For me, it was just to dry to be comfortable.

Go see a podiatrist. It sounds like you got planar facisitis. That is an inflammation of the planar facia tendon that runs the length of the foot from the heel to ball of the foot. It has become a common injury due to concrete and stone floors.
Temporay relief can be found by binding with a foot brace or ace bandage. Complete relief is given by a orthopedic appliance in the shoe similar to an arch support. The podiatrist can design the correct type for you.
