Newcastle will probably never win a cup anytime soon.. as long as Chelsea and Arsenal are still there. I didn't mention Manchester United because they do not have the depth in players. The only true superstars they've got are Rooney and Ronaldo.. the rest aren't involved in any big national first team selection. Actually, Newcastle has a team very much like Manchester United.. so should be in for a shout for third spot. Won't even bother about the spoiler team, Liverpool who only performs against top teams, but struggles against bottom table teams.

Think your going the right way mate, Roeder is a Geordie and a good organiser, will take a couple of years to bring the club up again though. If he can sort defence out you will be underway, in Carr and Given you've got 2 quality players in the back 5 and in Steven Taylor you've got a North East John Terry in the making. You'll always buy flair players which makes you entertaining but the flops have got to come good or ship out and I mean Freddy Shepherd in that. Souness was never gonna do anything. If you win even a small cup I think it could galvanise the club and push you back into the Champions league reckonng. Once a club has some success you've got a platform. good luck, i'm a cockney but i like your team, always have a go and good and honest.

Being a newcastle fan too I am frustrated at the lack of silver ware, Two fa cup finals and two uefa cup semi finals in the last 10 years is not good enough but it is encouraging. Hopefully with a good defence we can win something, but that wont happen until those players are brought.

NEWCASTLE is the one team I will always expect right above the middle table...but this season ... how about close to the relegation zone.
