why doesn't ANYTHING that makes you think get airtime-
because thinking leads to knowledge which COULD lead to enlightenment which COULD lead to civil unrest which could lead to a change. the "powers that be" don't want that. they've got the majority of paying people right where they want them.....
plus-the radio stations don't want too much controversy about who they play and what their messages are.
the public gets just enough "freedoms" to not notice when our freedoms (such as the right to speak and think freely) are being held down...

Well it's because record companies pay the stations to play certain songs so they can drive up record sales. None of those artist you mentioned can't move there records and then the company gives up on them cus thre is no money to be made. It's all about the money..it doesn't matter how good or bad the music is. It's if the can get one hit played so people will buy the record.

It seems like all people listen to now is all south rap and club stuff. I like the older stuff before there was "snap your fingers" and other $hit like that. I listen to older stuff from like 1994-2001. Now everything is about the club and girls shaking their a$$. I'm not hatin but that is just not for me!! They keep playing these bubble gum songs and never give the real people a chance. That really sucks. If you like real stuff like Talib Kweli and Mos Def you should give my husband a listen to if you want. His music is on http://www.myspace.com/skab777. Listen to "The Nightmare" now that is some real $hit seriously.

Good artists don't sell out and don't accept money to plug products. But that's what keeps the media business running.

b/c people don't want to hear what GOOD music anymore...its all about what beat sounds good. If they only took the time and listened to half of the things some of those rappers REALLY said!!
