If you give someone a thumbs down, it means that you don't like there answer or question..If you give someone a thumbs up, it means the answer was either a good answer, or a good question. When you rate someone a thumbs down, the Y! team, will check them, and look and see if they are just going to answer questions for the 2 points. Ex. Thanks for the 2 points, or something stupid like that, and Y!team will keep an eye on them. After awhile the answers team are going to weed these people out, so the ones who are really trying, don't have to put up with the people who think this, is a joke. I hope this helped..

Nothing b/c everyone has their own opinion so it shouldn't matter either way. It's just fun I guess.
