I suspect you know at least part of the answer or you would not be asking the unusual question. Magnetite is used instinctively by certain organism to guide themselves to locations advantageous to their survival. Long ago I read of some such organisms in the South Pacific. Don't ask me for details. Many organism accumulate metals. Snails, copper; humans, iron and more; certain sea creatures accumulate vanadium. Gold and iron deposits are leftovers of quadrillions of dead sea organisms. Deep in the hot rocks in the mantle of the earth bacteria burp and fart to produce the gas we burn, etc. etc

some animals such as birds and others that migrate supposedly have magnets in their brains, to help them determine the way south and the way north for when they are traveling
