The base computer I guess will have the main connection on a DSL line. But each computer will be using a different log in name for 5 different accounts. Does each account get its own IP #, and will it be tracked differently by sites on the 'net? or is there just one IP for all of them?

No. They will all show the same IP as either the machine or router connecting to the DSL.

Individual packages sent across the line will contain the addressing info that identifies each machine.

AOL will see the DSL Routers ip address. Natting is done by the router. So your local ip is not seen by anybody outside of your network.

no, all computers must have their own, unique IP address/number, just like you and your neighbor have a different address. how are the computers connected? through a switch, hub, or router?
