To answer your question, yes, it is possible to love someone only by typing. Essentially it is the same as talking, and if the conversations are meaningful and over time, one gets to know another person's inner thoughts and personality. But both people have to be honest and open. There is nothing "physical" in the relationship to get in the way, so everything is communication, which is the foundation of a good relationship.
But in your case... no. I wouldn't say it's love. It seems you two talk, but you don't feel the same as him and he seems to have gone too far too fast. I would say he's either feeling lonely or needy and sees you as a type of fantasy. I don't think he really knows you, or that you really know him... so in that case I'd say no, it's not love. He sounds like a player anyway... an online player. Just tell him you don't feel the same... that should be enough to make him stop. If you're uncomfortable with what he says, then say so.

Though we may pretend that after having chatting over net , we have fallen in love with each other, it can not happen. Physical proximity is the first ingredient for love. Nature has made all of us (including the animals) like that. Nature has given males in animal kingdom some attribute to attract female and vice-versa. Men has the art of talking (read chatting these days) to attract. You may fall in love with him once you are with him not otherwise.

Well it happened to me and I believe so..... I met a nice guy, James, here a week ago and since day l we started burning the keyboards exchanging pleasantries... getting to know each other..At first, i thought he's just an ordinary guy here in this techy world.. but as days passed by... am getting to get addicted talking to him.. i feel he loves me and I love him more than he knows. Yes... i am sure he loves me.........so distance... doesnt matter......just typing here, world would be full of love......... I love you James.

Omg..Get rid of this guy but fast block him do what ever you can to discourage him.I say no it isn't possible my husband did that with someone on line it nearly tore us apart but we turned things around.Tell him 2 get lost.Tell him anything.Good Luck

Stop talking to him if you are so desperate to make him unlove you. If you stay his friend, he will still love you because you listen to him. Listening is key to making someone fall for you, and you've accomplished it.

just take the compliment, dont try to alter his feelings. if you just dont return the feelings then he will eventually get over it and turn his attention elsewhere. i am surprised he can understand anything you say just from typing. i sure cant.

I dont think it is possible. Maybe he is really lonely and has made himself believe that he really does love you. I would stay away if i were you.
