In the washer? Certainly. Actually wash them, and get the results you ask about? Not a chance.

You sure can put them in the washer, along w/ leather athletic shoes. I wash my whole family's athletic shoes w/ a load of jeans.Sometimes a dark sole tennis shoe will stain a lighter garment & it'll never come out. Jeans have always proved to be the peas & carrots when laundrying.
Don't dry in dryer, Set out in sun, or in your vehicle on a hot day,or on top of it.If I don't need the shoes for a day or so, lay them on their sides & put at the front (below door)of my fridge or upright freezer.Warm air always flow here.
