At a news conference, Clark said he feared that should Saddam and the others be hanged, "catastrophic violence" would follow that would lead to "the end of civilization as we know it in the birthplace of civilization, Mesopotamia. Total, unmitigated chaos."

If you can hang Eichmann, you can hang Saddam. Civilization as we know it does not exist in Mesopotamia, so its "end" is moot. Clark has been fearing things that never were and did not come to pass, for many years, so his opinion is not to be relied upon.

I, as a Mesopotamian (Assyrian) wish that justice will be served and Saddam will be executed. "An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth" as stated by Babylonian King Hammurabi--Code of Laws. Saddam disheveled Iraq and murdered his own people, execution is the only way to deal with such a demon of a man.

The easiest and best way to get rid of Saddam and his henchmen is to turn them over to the Kurds....quietly and without fanfare. The Kurds would make short work of all of them rather quickly. No long trials. No long tirades of BS from Saddam or any of them. Give the Kurds enough nerve gas and let them do the rest. They would love it. After all, look at what Saddam did to them.

That is a bunch of garbage. I don't understand why people listen to what politicians would say on tv. As you and I know, propaganda is the only way governments use to convince people that certain actions that the government of a particular country takes is correct or incorrect depending on what it is. So, to aswer your question, I like to ask you a question instead. What did the Bust administration say about that Iraq that is true 100% today?

Clark is on his defense team. What do you expect? I think the trial has gone on too long as it is. I am for capital punishment, and he needs killin'. Catastrophic violence in Iraq. You don't get the news where you live?

I hardly doubt if this will happen.

First, the people of Iraq will make the decision, not Americans. Second, Saddam is as by hated by Muslims as he is hated by non-Muslims. Few tears will be shed by his death.

In anything, it might just bring the people of Iraq closer together. Clark is an idiot.

No, it wouldn't be smart.

If he gets executed, ALL his supporters and terrorists would riot, and pillage. More US soldiers will die too.

It would be better to keep Saddam in prison for the rest of his life, cut off from the world and his family.

Not a good idea. George Bush senior's old buddy will probably need to be trotted out again to fix the mess Dubbya has made while plundering for oil.
