Why should Canada continue selling MEDICATIONS, LUMBER and OIL (to name a few) to the United States if they're not going to be fair about it? We have a choice here and we can choose not to continue letting them dictate to us, we should be supporting our lumber companies in their civil suite; don't you? We have the resources ... we have the upper hand!!!!!!

The US is so arrogant! i dont even know why Canada is still trading with the US when NAFTA is nothing close to free trade. we should start striking up agreements with European countries, China and India or simply renegotiate NAFTA. Its about time we start fighting back against the US for treating us Canadians like crap! And i think our BC gov't is exporting electricity down to California too.. so watch it US! we'll cut off your power supply!

we could also blame David Emerson again... for accepting the stupid softwood lumber deal, Canada deserves better and the US should repay the $5 billion they owe us in ILLEGAL tariffs. NAFTA my ***!

the U. S. has 10x the inhabitants of Canada, and a militia 300x the size of Canada's. So no. Canada's potential industry is very practically completely private. whilst paying for oil from Canada, we are paying for and promoting with firms, not with the authorities. Canada is the sole western usa that's a important company of oil. we would desire to consistently commerce with them extra generally and inspire them to enhance oil production as a exchange of continuously dealing with third international dictators that detest democracy and violently oppress their own people.

In response to Timothy C. I'd rather get 4 of the 5 billion than nothing at all, which is what the Liberals would have done, just keep dragging this softwood lumber issue on and on to keep their lawyer friends in the trough!! I think the United States would do just fine, it would be Canada that would be hurting.

As much as the Americans would like to believe that they'd be just fine without Canada it simply isn't true. It's impossible for a few arrogant misinformed Americans to understand that they really do depend on others (even Canada) for a lot. Unfortunately this works both ways. They need us as much as we need them.
And all these lame threats about not kicking them in the shins is funny. America can't touch us, which is why we probably aggravate some of them so much.

You can enjoy us spending our money on your products or, as with any free market, we will go to other suppliers. If you believe we need Canada to survive, you are sadly mistaken and have an inflated view of your country. That seems to be a view many uninformed Canadians share.

If you want to play hardball with the U.S., Canada is the one that will suffer and you will certainly not be serving the best interests of your country (and its people). Free markets will reign.

The United States can definitely live without Canada, but why would they want to? We are neighbors and have been friends and allies for centuries. I don’t understand why you are trying to divide our countries?

You're right...for now.
Canada currently supplies more than 60% of the United States petroleum. (25% comes from Latin America, and less than 15% comes from the Middle East)

Is that why you let them take away your right to bear arms? It seems like you don't have a choice in that one! It's called the global economy. We quit taking your garbage to the Grand Blvd incinerator, now it seems to be piling up around there; not everyone uses drugs.
