i just moved to a different state for a job. it was hard at first being away from family but we talk everyday. it was fun getting to know the city and getting to tell everyone "i'm not from around here" i have met some very nice people. i have found that most people will be more than willing to help you with directions or cool places to hang out when they find "your not from around here." just meet as many people as you can and soon you'll feel more like home. I belive most people can do anything for a year. maybe after a year you can move back, if it does not work. i just realized that maybe you are young and are moving with the family, in that case it will be hard adjusting to a new school, but i think you'll find that you will grow in a positive way because of it. the good thing about memories is that you can take them with you no matter where you are.
