Sir I have been an avid Buckeye fan forever and I can tell you this: Troy Smith has a lot of weapons which is a must for a team to be #1 in the country. If you remember even last year Tressell was hesitant to start him but thought he deserved playing time. Justin Zwick was his man and he broke nearly all the passing records in Ohio High school football. If Troy Smith played the whole game vrs Texas one year ago we would have beaten Texas. Justin Zwick-Whom every college wanted looks disgraceful with the same weapons around him. Because of the weapons around him Troy does not need to run, but if it was needed he could win games on his own. He does not make mistakes and he is very intelligent-Maybe the greatest QB in college history (This debate would go on forever). Yes he deserves the Heisman.

Troy Smith makes one great play (because it only takes one single play to win the heisman trophy) and he is the leading candidate for the damn thing.
Kenny Irons runs and catches for 300+ yards a game, and nobody has ever heard of him.
What the hell?!
BTW- I would pay good money to watch USC and OSU have an SEC schedule just once. Let them trade places with Vanderbilt and Miss. State, and see how good they do against the likes of Georgia, Tennessee, Florida, LSU and Auburn. All five of which are ranked in the top 13. Even a bad team in the SEC isn't all that bad. Look at vanderbilt.

I'm biased I live in Columbus but I'd say this to you - There aren't any one man football teams out there anywhere. You have to understand what we call Tressleball around here. The only offense Jim Tressle shows is as much as he needs to win the current game. We haven't seen Troy run much this year because he's throwing the ball to 4 different receivers with great success. When you need a second dimension there are 3 fine running backs to account for and if you get to a team that figures out how to defend all that then you'll see the next added dimension which is Troy moving his feet which will loosen up the coverage on the other schemes. If you watch the other teams have had a "spy" to account for him running out of the pocket which has deprived the secondary of a man in coverage making his passing game so effective. If they drop the spy then he'll add 150 yds a game like he's done in years past. You'll get to see the whole package during Michigan week I'd bet.

Do I sense another bandwagon jumper? Ive heard more about Troy Smith and OSU this year than I have heard about any other team. Troy Smith IS NOT the best player in college football. He has too many people around him that make him look good. Pittman, Gonzalez, Ginn. Why dont we look at some pure athletes, MVPs, players that if they werent on their team, their team would suck. In no particular order, Quinn, Slaton, Wolfe, Johnson, and I could go on. People get off the bandwagon just because he is the only player and the only team you ever hear about that doesnt make him the best. Look outside the box and youll see some athletes that are far more spectacular than Troy Smith.

He probably will, even thoug Adrian Peterson at OU deserves it more. His is the better player. The only reason he wont get it is because OU is not ranked very high.
If Adrian Peterson does great and makes huge plays tomorrow against Texas...he may have a shot at beating out Troy Smith.

Troy Smith or Steve Slaton. Quinn and Ainge are out of the image until Smith (or Henne) stumbles, and Slaton will win it over Ian Johnson because of the fact he performs against harder opposition. From there that's Smith's versatility and management vs. Slaton's gaudy numbers on an undefeated team.

The interesting thing to me about Troy Smith is hes good but hes not AMAZING i mean Ohio state wouldn't be as good with him but they wouldn't suck with out him
That is why Chris Leak is an interesting candidate to me there are a lot of Florida fans that don't like him hes not tuff he isn't fit for this system i mean i don think there is a clear winner right now

He won't win it but it will probably be GIVEN to him because of like you say "bandwagon jumpers". No he is not the best athlete and far from being the best quarterback. Instead of watching the Ohio State and Bowling Green game, switch the channel over to the Florida-LSU game and see some REAL athletes and some REAL quarterbacks. They both will be on at the same time. You might just get knocked off the wagon.

I guess I'm on the band wagon. I've seen all of the candidates play and in my opion it's his to loose. He's incredible. I think the closest to him would be Adriann Peterson, but with OU having a loss I'm sure the vote will go to Smith.
