A miscarriage is EXTREMELY painful, not just cramps. Miscarriages are extremely bloody also, with tissue, not just blood. The bleeding is a constant flow. It starts thin maybe but within a few hours about 2, the blood increases greatly along with the pain. WHEN IN DOUBT PLEASE SEEK MEDICAL HELP!!

well... a miscarriage is intensified a lot by pain which normally doesn't occur with the normal period pains. But.. in al fairness, this may vary from person to person, so.. bottom line is that if you were pregnant and then had a period that seemed like a miscarriage, the result will show automatically on your preg. test, as in ... negative.

Generally a very heavy period with blood clot(s), and possibly cramping, may signal a miscarriage. If you think you had a miscarriage, you should see you doctor as soon as possible.

I had one around 6 or 7 weeks and I wouldn't necessarily call it extremely painful. It was just a lot of sudden pressure like someone was sitting on my stomach. Started out like a regular period on a sunday evening, then on Tues afternoon was when the pressure started and LOTS of blood came out. Plus it was stringy like red snot...and almost tissue like. I can still picture it--very freaky. Sorry if that was too graphic, but i hope it helped.

2 words-pregnancy test. Early in a miscarriage you should still have enough hcg in your system to register a positive test result. If you were unsure or weren't trying to get pregnant, I would just tell myself it was your period and go on. You don't really give much info, such as when your last period was, had you tested positive or were you trying.

You should experience some pretty substantial bleeding and cramping. Most like the blood will have clots in it. If you are pregnant and feel like you are having a period, I would say you are losing the baby and should see a doctor ASAP.
