Is there a time frame I have to change her name in case my mind has changed? I know I can have it changed and pay for it, but I mean like for free and like her other name never existed? I have not yet recieved her birth certificate. Who do you think I could call to ask?

Probably too late,
The hospital takes car of bith certificate an all. So even if they do a half-way job, that is one thing that is a no-brainer for them to put a stamp on an envelope and charge you or the insurance company $20.

But is is usually as easy as changing you name when you get married. Certificates/ Social Security Numbers/ Driver License (but the baby doen't drive) and your set.

i dont know from where country you came from but here in the Philippines, you can request for a name change when it comes to the family name, in cases of illegitimate child and you married the child's father, then the child's surname would be changed into surname1(the surname you wrote before) + new surname(father's surname) = the modified surname.
e.g. you wrote in the birth certificate, Cruz. the child's father's surname is Fontanilla. then the child's name would be: (name of the child) (middle-initial) Cruz-Fontanilla.
but for cases of changing the given name, i think you'll have it under due process, to test if you have a good and hard reason for changing it.
i hope this will help you.
