No, it's really not that windy. Chicago got the nickname the windy city when they were trying to get the 1893 Columbian World Fair. The New York City newspapers said Chicago was full of hot air, and that they should get the fair.

Yes, Chicago is windy pretty often, but not every day. Not all places live up to their mottos every day. Hawaii is the Aloha state and people there say aloha if they're in a good mood. Missouri is the show me state and I'm not sure I want to know what that means.
