Hello I have a 14K white gold engagement ring and when I first got it I decided to clean it a bit using Connoisseurs jewelry cleaner. I only dropped my ring in for 4 seconds because I'm worried about damaging the plating on the ring. When I took it out I noticed the ring felt sticky and if I pressed my finger on it my fingerprint would stay and it felt odd. I dried it with a towel and there was no damage. Tonight I cleaned it again (1 week later), this time only putting the ring in for 2 seconds and it felt sticky. I wanted to be sure it was just this piece so I decided to throw in a yellow gold ring but it didn't feel sticky at all. My platinum ring is fine also.
Is this a bad cleaner for my ring? Or is it normal for the ring to feel a bit sticky after cleaning because it's plated?

platted means it's just a coatting. put it in a cleaner and you wash away the plated material

take a tooth brush and little water and wash it with baking soda it really works and does not ruin the jewelery AT ALL!
