i really need this answer for my U.S history class..i cant find it in the book or anywhere!! thanks a million!

Just think logically.
Railways provided faster+more efficient ways of transportation.
Before railways people had to ride horses to get to the West, which was slow, backbreaking, and had a great chance of mugging+death.
Railways provided transportation of people and goods. With railways, expansion of colonies was made possible.
Think of railways as our airplanes today. How hard would it be to go from one end of the world to another without an airplane??
Now compare that same difficulty...how hard would it be to get from east coast US to the west coast with just a horse ?

Because trains could send people much faster to the West as opposed to going by horse, more people traveled to the West and settled the area

With the gorwth or railroads to transport people from coast to coast and into interior USA, small towns sprung up, to service the travelers and other workers. Then, once people settled there to help serve the railroad, they thenmsleves needed goods and servives and so, more diverse peoples came.


Small industries starter, mines, and the huge grain belts of the midwest. The grains needed to be trasnported, as did cattle. More jobs, more people. The rairoads also helped manifest destiuny, the feeling it was the destiny of Americasn to stttle this entire land out of a sense of adventure and patriotism. More people...

To allow the Taco Bell Franchise to establish itself in the West. The railroad helped it get fresher indredients. And, with a Taco Bell in town people would move there and the railroad took those people out west.

they took all the people to the west, if the trains had not taken the people there, it would have never developed and no one would have found gold and half the celebrities would not exist.
