Hey guys I have a problem, I'm tring to recover my External Hard drive, I have formatted it to FAT32 because it doesn't seem to work with NTFS...But that's not the problem, When I try to put files on the external hard drive I keep getting the error: Cannot copy:(filename) The Request Could Not Be proformed because of an I/0 Device error...what's wrong with it!?

Yes, I/O error means that you won't be able to write anything to it. Hard drive manufacturers usually provide 1yr warranty on their drives and they don't require a receipt.

So what you can do is, go to their web site or call them and tell them about your problem.

One note though, they go by the manufacture date and not when you bought it. They determine this by the serial number or the date stamp.

Good Luck! I bet you own a Maxtor or there is a Maxtor drive inside your enclosure. Maxtor drives are notorious for dieing. Thought Maxtor is now owned by Seagate so I wouldn't be suprised if you own a seagate.

If it worked basically before dropping it, you have broken the stress. if it is so your basically selection is to deliver it in for restoration. it may fee a sprint greater to repair than what you're able to purchase a sparkling one for nonetheless.
