I don't know what to tell you. I have quite the opposite problem. Mine gets sick often, and he is such a baby when that happens. He works half a day in the garage or some physical labor, and he is down for the count. He has no stamina, or does not know how to pace himself when he undertakes a project.
He really does get every little disease that comes along, and has migraines, to boot, and after a half dozen of these minor illnesses, I get a little put out, but I know he really does feel bad, so I try to grit my teeth and realize that if I felt that bad, I guess I would want a little sympathy also.

He's from the old school where if you could walk, you get your butt out of bed and work.
He's probably feels he is the main support beam of your family, and if he cannot do what he is supposed to in putting food on the table, then he may feel he has no self worth.
I bet his father never took a sick day either. If he father has died, see if you can convince him to take good care and get rest because of the age his father died at.
Course skip that if his father is alive.
But you could tell him that he takes care of you; the least he could do is let you return the love and care. And that you would rather have him live longer than try to get that next purchase that advertising throws at you.

It's a man/macho thing. Some men are of the opinion that they are supposed to be tough, and admitting to being sick is the same as admitting to weakness.
That's not to say he is deliberately doing this: Your husband may have been trained like this all his life. But anyway, you'll have to watch him closely.
Good luck!

A lot of the time, if we cannot perform daily tasks or provide like we normally do, we feel somehow inadequete (even if we won't admit it to ourselves). Maybe as if we are not "tough" or complete men if we can't perform at 100%. I don't think that many men would admit it or agree outright with me, but if I were to be honest with you I really think that this is definitely a big part of his not telling you when he's ill. He also may not want to feel like you have to provide for him, rather than he providing for you.
I hope this adds a little bit of insight!
Good luck and God Bless!
Good luck and

Maybe he sees it as a sign of weakness, and maybe it's a blessing. One can't help but notice when my husband is sick. Oh my goodness, the whining.

This is one of those differences between men and women that you will never understand. Think of something you do that makes perfect sense to you but none to him. Its the same thing. Oh, and it is a macho bread winner thing... You know...doesn't want you to think he is a sissy or anything.

i think your hubby dont want to worry you, or he wants you to guess that he is sick. I mean, when we are sick we want our loved ones to automatically understand that we arent well and we need your attention. Whether he tells you or not, if you know that he is sick try to make him happy by your love and care. Show him that you care for him.

I wish my husband would hold it in sometimes...he's a big baby when he's sick.
Most likely your husband doesn't want to worry you, either that or he's afraid you'll make him go to the doc.
