I dont....
if its a spider or larger bug I usually scoop them up and put them outside.. flies I do swat although have occassionaly also put them outside too....
umm we also have pet bugs here - walking stick insects.. I think I surprised my family because we were at an Odd & Unusual livestock auction.. mostly weird breeds of sheep, goats, llamas but they also had indoor house pets and I bid on the walking stick insects - so yes we have pet bugs
I think little girls play into the screaming at bugs becuase its kinda "cute" to thier parents in a sterotyically girly way.. then eventually they see other girls do the same so the behavior is reinforced and they acutally become scared of the bugs without really knowing why...
my daughter at first was ok with spiders but since she spent time in a day care at age 5 she finds them yucky - although she is good with other bugs and not scared.. she for some reason still doesnt like spiders.. I think it was the other kids reactions that made her be this way

I stomp on the bug as fast as I can and try to get rid of it, I don't scream, but I don't like the bugs much. I'm more of a tomboy though, my sister who's more of a girly-girl screams anytime she sees a bug, no matter how small it is. It depends on the girl. I would scream if I didn't control my emotions, but I control them, so I don't scream.

What is the big deal about a bug??? I pick it up and carry it outside. No I dont care if it bites me cause I'll just drop it and kill it if it does. Most girls scream cause they are little babies girls I'm sorry but GET OVER IT they are more scared of you than you are of them I promise and if they bite you since your a lot bigger than them its not going to hurt very bad unless your alergic.

Usually after the initial shock, i just take a piece of paper and take the bug and put it outside.
And as for the screaming...no idea, i guess most are afraid that they'll be bitten and then they'll die, so it's a defense mechanism

*laughs* I squeal and jump. Then if I feel brave enough to try and kill it, I'll dance around it like a moron or like I'm retarded. It's pretty funny and the damn bug usually gets away.
Spiders, I'll release.
Lizards, I'll release.
Everything else is screwed.

lol that's cute.
Actually, I don't have to go anywhere near bugs if I see one in my home. I have a cocker spaniel who simply "lives to kill". All I have to say is "Woogie... get the bug!" and he'll dig at it and throw it around until it stops moving. =) My only responsibility is flushing it (if there's anything left of it anyway) hehe

Honestly? I pick it up and look at it, then try to determine what kind it is! I have seen some pretty cool critters up close this way...
Sorry, there's just nothing to be afraid of there.
