I know the Dems. are just trying to get their hits in before the elections next month...Last time I checked, we have a war going on in Iraq, Iran developing nuclear weapons, North Korea testing nuclear weapons, and those Al Qaeda nuts bent on our destruction. Shouldn't they be more focused on those issues and NOT trying to associate one pervert's wet dreams with an entire political party? And this whole Hastert cover up thing has to be the most rediculous thing I've heard. If he had any idea what Foley was up to he would have told him to quietly resign. If not for the protection of the pages, than that the Republican party.

Of course Foley will be used for political reasons - the Republicans would do the same thing. Just like they are taking one excuse after another for Foley, including "the Dems set this up" b.s.

Last I checked, the war on Iraq is still going on because the President and his administration misled the American people on the reasons for war and the amount of resistance we would have there.

North Korea is going nuts because they ARE nuts and we've ignored them for a good five years now. Again, you can thank the lovely Bush Admin for that.

Al Qaeda is bent on our destruction and our policies are fueling their fire while keeping our eyes away from the prize. We're in Iraq when we should be putting resources towards killing those rat bastard.

The issues are out there regardless of the Foley situation. It's time for a change. The Dems have a MYRIAD of issues to choose from. Foley is just another example of ineptness.

Yeah...it kind of reminds me of when Bush was trying to get an amendment passed that defines marriage...when we have all those more important issues you mentioned.

I know the whole GOP party isn't to blame, but there appears to be evidence that many Republicans in congress, including Hastert, have known about this activity for quite some time, and did nothing.

Even some Republicans are calling for Hastert's resignation. None of this is the Dems' doing, as much as you'd like it to be. But it sure gives them some ammo, real or perceived.

Two words: Bill Clinton. Sex Sells. It's a sex scandal. Billy got a hummer from an intern. Foley sent suggestive messages to minors. What do you think is worse? And I agree with you, there are more pressing issues, globally speaking. But when we, the people, are questioning the integrity of those we elected to deal with those pressing issues, it's pretty damned important to me. It is our right, and it is our duty to hold those we elect to office to the highest of standards. If they will cover up child molestation, what sort of things do you think they might overlook during war?

The media and Democrats, geez, how can you tell the difference, are blowing this whole Foley thing out of the water because it diverts attention from their own complete and utter inability to come up with even a smidgen of a plan to deal with the really important issues you described above.

Because it's only the tip of the iceberg. We shouldn't BE in a war in Iraq. If you want to focus on something, how about how the Bush administration ignored the warnings of 9-11? Let's look at our next republican governor of FL -----also gay.
