Dual Disc has two sides, one is the DVD side, the other is a CD side.

Double Layer DVD is one side that is DVD. The laser reads the disc at one angle, then when it gets to the end it flips around and reads the disc from the other angle. This allows more data to be stored on a disc.

I hear that the Blu-Rays are capable of 8 layers. Kind of insane.
