If those are the files I think they are, there is no way to convert them to MP3 format. AAC (I believe) is a specialized format that can only be used on iTunes.

The only way I can think of is to burn those files onto a CD and then import them from that CD into MP3 format. That's what my boss does all the time. If he can't find a better/easier way to convert them, than that's the only way you can do it.

Itunes itself will convert AAC files to MP3 by right clicking on the track within Itunes. This doesn't work on one's that you have purchased from the Itunes store, which are protected. In this case use the burning to CD suggestion as above
