I would never forgive someone for killing my child because that is what he did. I am so sorry for your lose and I am not saying live every moment thinking of your hate for this man, but he does not deserve your forgiveness. Press charges if possible and do everything you can to put the bastard that did this to you and your sweet baby that was growing inside of you behind bars were he belongs. I wish all the best for you and hope you have a big support system as I know you could use it during this very difficult time. I am sure you will make a great mother some day. This is a very terrible situation. In all honesty, while you may be able to one day forgive your attacker, I doubt that you will ever forget this terrible incident.

The important thing is to tend to yourself right now, physically, emotionally, and psychologically. If you have not already done so, you need to seek medical care and especially counseling. Whether you seek a rape counselor or a clergy/religious person for counseling, you need help in dealing with this situation. It may take a while to find a counselor that you feel comfortable with, but please make the effort to find one that is right for you.

You have a hard road to recovery ahead of you. I wish you the strength, will, and determination to be brave and go forward with your life. Good luck, and if need be, I and other fine members fo this board are willing to listen and help in anyway that we can.

Forgive and forget?.....well, what is the alternative?......anger, bitterness, hatred, mistrust, isolation....
I lost my son, a baby boy, years ago; of course, in a different way, but the pain of him not ever being with me is with me to this day.....what I don't have to bear is the pain of anger, bitterness, hatred, mistrust, isolation......The question isn't really "Should I forgive and forget?"....I think the question is "Will you?" I think, for your sake, you should....but only you can say if you will. No amount of answers on the Internet can convince you of that.
