I smoked a pack once and afterwards i didn't really like it(i liked the buzz i got from it)-i had bad breath and felt bad about myself, but i didn't have any cravings or even wanted to smoke again, is it more addicting for certain people?

Smoking one pack does not cause addiction any more than drinking one six-pack of beer would make one an alcoholic.
For some people, they don't mind the smoke breath or the stinky clothes. They go back for more of the nicotine buzz and develop a habit and then an addiction.
I grew up with a smoking parent so I didn't notice the smell and started doing it myself when I was seven. I quit a couple of times. I have been clean for five years now but the urge is very strong at times. Even now I long to feel the smoke in my lungs. It's a struggle every day.

I think they are addicting for everyone. It would depend on if you keep doing it. You can become addicted to anything if you work hard at it.
I have been having one cigarette a day after work. After one week, I start to crave my one cig a day. I don't know if it is the actual cigarette/nicotine or the ritual of smoking after work. I do think I am becoming addicted though.
If you still have a handle on it, don't try to go further. It sucks to stink like smoke!

It's very addicting. I smoked for over 20 years. It's terrible really and I'm so happy I stopped. It's really a disgusting habit. Can't believe I ever smoked and regret it deeply.

If I got cancer today I wouldn't even care...my son got cancer at 11....maybe that is my punishment...but I know that dying from lung cancer is a terrible, terrible way to go.

I cant get my husband to stop smoking, even though he watched his father die a slow and painful death with emphysema caused by smoking...he literally choked to death in the end as your lungs simply cannot fill up with oxygen anymore and your organs all start weakening and shutting down.

Nobody thinks of this sh*t when they are young...but later in life you will really regret it. Cancer is a horrible, horrible disease and you cannot imagine how it changes your life forever. It's not worth it for a stupid cigarette. You can beat it...it takes 3 days for the nicotine to leave your body...the rest is psychological...just tell yourself no...I'm not going to let a cancer stick control my life.

It's one of the most addictive things there are. Once you get addicted to the nicotine, it's very very difficult to kick the habit. Don't toy with anything that is addicting. You are only asking for trouble. Why would you want to even try something that can guarantee you a shorter life span? I'm glad you didn't enjoy it and only bought one pack. Just make it your last. Most people struggle with it for years after they quit and it's very common for them to relapse several times.

Cigarettes are not immediately addictive like... say... heroin, but yes, the nicotine in them over time will cause dependancy. I quit smoking in December of last year and I still crave one almost daily.

After continuing to smoke the recepters in the brain that nicotine fits into increase not only that the holes in the brain cells where oxygen is supposed to go into get filled with nasty chemicles

Supposedly it is due to the nicotine, but I agree with you. I am a nonsmoker and believe with all the bad things that come from smoking, no one could get addicted.
