The simplest expression is to give the value of this.

the " I 7 I " means the absolute value of 7.

In other words I -7 I = I 7 I

Its absolute value is the amount the number is from zero.

In terms of apples you could say if you are missing 7 apples its worth 7 apples to you.

But also if you found 7 apples its also worth 7 apples to you.

Therefore whatever is inside the absolute value bracket is ist total numerical value.

Then in this question it is " - I -7 I "
Which is the negative of what is the absolute value in the bracket.
In this case " -7 ".

-7 because anything INSIDE the [] is positive no matter if there is a negative symbol or not. BUT there is a negative symbol on the outside too so this one is still going to be figured into the equation. The straight up and down lines means absolute value and in absolute value brackets everything is positive!

-7

the absolute value of -7 is 7
but because there is a negative infront of the absolute value sign, the answer becomes -7

-7 because even tho it says I-7I in the brackets it is still just 7 but then you have a negative sign outside so it makes it -7
