*HOW* who I marry has such an affect on you *PERONALLY* that you need to vote a ban against it?

The question is about how, not why.

Marriage is between two consenting adults. (Pedophilia and beastiality are violent acts, so pls don't go there and believe it a valid point.)

Your faith might explain what you believe, but it does NOT explain how you are affected personally today. So, pls don't quote the Bible. (Besides the commandments and Christ's teachings trump any other obscure reference you may be inclined to misconstrue.)

Thanks for explaining because I really do not understand how my life has so much influence on yours that you feel the need to set different rules for me.

Jazzy Geo - churches already marry us. Voting and legislation have nothing to do with god or religion. Geeze, take a civics class.

That's the point, it doesn't. People on this site are morons (not everyone, just most), so don't worry about what they say. Hell, I am biased towards homosexual people 'cause they aren't mother f*cking bigots!

On a different note (sorry to bring religion into this): Christ's teachings and the Ten Commandments are the pillars of Christianity. Both teach of peace, love, and accepting others, so all you homophobes and racists out there that say you are Christians, you really need to learn your own faith and not just follow what some priest tells you.

And marriage is not Biblical, it is a legal and emotional binding between two people and does not need to be connected to religion at all. For those people that argue my point: What, do you think that Muslims or Buddhists or Hindus or Atheists can't get married? Oh wait they can? Well then that isn't Biblical is it, because none of those people believe in the Bible.

unfortunately i dont have an answer that would compare to a college professor,,,just that fact that the very ppl who r voted into office seem to want to stick their nose in....however since before anyone can recall marriage has been between a man and a woman,,,but someone had to wake everyone up in the local sector and recognize that as long as there are 2 consenting adults, they should share the household, the bilss, the life insurance, the health insurance or the divorce, all the same benefits/negatives as str8 couple. The process to make a bill a law is to have it voted on by both congress and H.O.R. If the president could make something a law without the vote...then that would be considered a dictatorship i think..............

Marriage is between two people.

Nothing else matters and no-one elses opinion matters more than the opinions of the two people involved in the marriage! Gay people are not hurting anyone. Straight bible thumping 'claim to be Christians' need to comprehend the fact that this country was formed by people who were seeking freedom from ridiculous 'self serving religious' laws.

Live and let live! No one tells you that blacks can't marry whites or that Asians and Mexicans can't get married...WELL NOT ANYMORE ANYWAY!!! So it doesn't matter what sex people are if they love and Cherish one another!!!!!

I bet you have a problem with down syndrome and retarded people falling in love and getting married too...Open your mind...

It shouldn't (it has nothing to do with them) but unfortunately it matters to most people : ( i am guessing; they are afraid of a change, on how they are brought up with views and beliefs (a lot of kids turning into their own parents beliefs and views with out even knowing it),
If you went up to a straight and asked them straight out why don't they think we should get married, i guarantee they will just answer "its wrong"
But how can something "so wrong" feel so right???? I just dont understand people....

I support your right to marry your partner regardless of their sex, your are correct in what you are saying and doing. Good Luck!!

Just remember the vows many people exchange at their marriages are "your people will be my people" was a statement between two women.

No need to wonder. Why don't you just vote against the ban?

To those of you who think you are right,it isnt a matter of law or any other thing,it is the principal of GODS LAW.It clearly states in The Bible,Man,shall not lay with man,as he does a woman. It also goes on to say man,or woman shouldn't have relations with a beast.I.E.dog,horse,donkey....BUT....GOD gave man the choice of free will, and the knowledge, and concience to know Wrong from Right. So,no NOBODY has the right to judge whether or not two people of the same sex get married,or otherwise!Besides, who are we to judge ANYBODY when no-one is perfect!
