It means to be self aware. Ie. know who your true self is. Ie. Know that you are not your body, you are not your mind, you are not your emotions. You are that beyond which observes all of that. You are silence. You are spaciousness. You are God.

sometimes there's stuff we want so desperately to believe, but deep down we know it's not true. that quote is telling to to fess up and to get over it and admit it. i think. :)
