How many women out there are interested in 50's Sci Fi flicks like Tarantula!, The Thing from Another World, or Them!? Please understand, I mean no disrespect here, I'm just curious. I can sit around forever with (guy) friends and discuss these kinds of movies, but I've never once met a girl or woman interested in them. Thanks for your time.

I like Sci-Fi flicks and books. So do many of my friends. "Them" was great. (And none of us are old enough to be someone's father's girlfriend.)

I would say the "normal" girl would not be interested. Just like the normal guy is not interested in chick flicks. There is always an exception to the rule. However, if you want to find a good discussion topic for the ladies, sci fi flicks is probably not your best bet! Just a guess.

I do. I watch all kinds though.
I think my fave old was The Fly and Invasion of the Bodysnatchers. Yes the old black and whites. Those were the best versions. Have you seen the original "The Haunting"?
But I guess I'm a bit different because I could sit down and watch "Conan" and "Kull" and "The Sword and the Sorcerer" too. Give me a good Steven Seagall movie anyday. Then turn around and watch Practical Magic or Titanic. Also like monster movies. Sci-Fi channel is cool.

I am a woman raised in the sixties and seventies. And remember those types, but with all the new technology...cgi and such, I tend to go more for the newer ones. I mean I do like classic black and white movies...even a few B cult classics...but
I think the oldest sci fi I like would have to be Aliens.
I do collect the old Lon Chaney--Vincent Price--stuff, but just to collect, ya know?
I do love sci fi though..

The only one I've even heard of before was "the Thing". Not my deal... but I'm sure there are girls that like them. In fact, my Dad's girlfriend loves sci-fi... and she was born in the 50's... so I bet she's into those!

I like classic sci-fi. I've seen a lot of them. I particularly like the ones with a message, like "The Day the Earth Stood Still." The Godzilla movies are enjoyable and Mothra is great.

I also like martial arts films.

Okay, looks like I'm one of a kind. I'm a youngish 40 year-old woman who loves those 50's black and white flicks, especially Tarantula. The only thing I wonder is what you find to discuss...Aren't they just images to watch and enjoy and fear for fun...

I like Sci-Fi and some B movies, I don't watch a lot of old movies though.

No interest. Nada. Well, the alfred hitchcock shows were good, but I don't think they were from the 50s. Some of the scary movies from that time seem to be boring and fake with a loooooot of talking. Snore.

I think I saw The thing from Another World but I must not have like it that much because I barley remember it. I've seen a lot of movies
