To me it means that someone made a mistake and got married and not till it was too late (decades), did he or she found out that it would have been better being alone. That is what I get from this. Mind you I could be wrong.

that being alone can be a good thing if you're with the wrong person. life can be hell if you are with someone who is wrong for you. open your eyes and know it's wrong before you realize it's too late and you get hurt. if and when you get hurt, then you realize you were better off alone, or without the person you are with

Often people go through life thinking only of themselves and end up leading a very lonely existence. One should treat others like they would like to be treated. Being kind and helping the ones that are less fortunate than themselves.

It means that being alone isn't the worst thing in the world and it is better to be alone than to end up with someone you don't love. Or, it could just be another way of saying hindsight is 20/20.

It is about timing. Examples of too late: too late to say thank you, too late to do something for/with your love ones, missed opportunities, etc.

the appreciation between being alone and being lonely.................some ppl get it confused and dont figure it out later in life and by that time they have given up...thats my opinion
