See that nice red Y! up there? First, go to the Y! home page and find the same one. OK, put your cursor on it and drag it to the little picture of a house, just to the left of the location text box on the toolbar. You will get a dialog box that says "Make this your home page?" You say yes, and it's done.

You are not talking about the Yahoo browser. You want to make yahoo your home page
If Fire fox works OK, leave it alone
On WIN98 or ME Click start>settings> control panel> Internet options> under the general tab and next to "homepage" clear and retype www.yahoo.com in that small window, and yahoo will be your home page no matter which browser you use.
If you have XP, click start> control panel> and so on.
To get your IE back ( the e symbol) go to control panel and click add/remove programs, double click find any programs that say Internet Explorer, highlight each entry and click add/remove button. After all Internet Explorer entries are gone, go to google or yahoo search and type in "Internet Explorer 6" find the link that says it is a download and follow directions.
ONCE your IE is reloaded, immediately install all Windows critical updates available for your platform, or version of windows. This will close any known weaknesses in the windows programs to lessen your chances of picking up viruses.
Ignore the smart asses. We all have to start somewhere, like I did. If this is all Greek to you, find a friend who is More savvy than you to help you. Good luck

Assuming you are running Windows XP, you go into the Start Menu, then click on "Set Program Access and Defaults" on the right-column before you open up anything through the "All Programs" link.
