I am a old school die hard Wings Fan. I mean that I was a fan back when they sucked so bed that they were called the dead wings. I am not sure about this year. Hasek and Osgood are not what I would have placed in the net.
I would have kept Legacy got rid of Osgood and brought up Jimmy Howard and Joey MacDonald from the Griffons.
Then there is the issue of all the changes that's been made since Yzerman moved into management.. The chemistry is going to take some time to get together. We lost some talent that equates to a 20% goal loss for the year. So I think that this year they might not make it even to the playoffs. I really hope I am wrong here, but it looks doubtful so far.

i am a wing fan. no shame here saying that becuz they are my home team. no matter how they do they are my fave team. the wings are a fourth place team in my opinion. they will be fourth in the west come playoff time. in the playoffs if they win in the first round maybe they will win a second round. will they win the cup? anything is possible. but i believe they will not becuz the team has a lot of problems. what i mean is the goalies must steal games and stand on their heads every night which i know is not possible with either goalie. another point is the offense. datsyuk, zetterberg and franzen must carry the load now that shanny is gone. lidstrom must find a way to motivate the team to win. the wings will miss the motivational skills of yzerman. the biggest problem in the wings is their defense. the players are getting old. the hole left by fischer being gone due to his heart condition is obvious. he was a great defenseman. the wings have no really good defense men outside of the new captain. bottom line: the wings can win if they pull it together.

they're an remarkable common season group. Nick Lidstrom is definately their superb participant. communities they play in the playoffs seem to regulate to them and as a result the Wings get knocked off. that takes place in a skill seven sport sequence. in spite of the undeniable fact that, no longer counting the season we are in the Wings have gained the cup three times ninety seven, ninety 8 and 02. they have been in the convention finals six situations in view that ninety 5. while they lost to the Kings some years in the past they did no longer have Yzerman or Shanahan as a results of injuries. with the intention to declare they choke is extremely deceptive. study them to the different group in those years and that they are between the superb if no longer the superb. New Jersey Devils have a good case yet no person else on the 2nd.

I LOVE THE DETROIT RED WINGS. They will reach (I hope) the western conference finals but will not win the cup.. it's good they are now being seen as the underdogs and if they can upset teams in the playoffs, then they are going to the finals. They will finish 7th or 8th in the western conference standings. Good Luck to them and GO WINGS! They do have young players so this is a plus!

The Wings will make the playoffs but I don't think they will win the Cup. If they would just get rid of Hasek things would be a lot better. He played terrible tonight. If his play this evening is a sign of things to come it is going to be a long season!

I've been a huge RW fan for my entire life, but after last year's playoff performance, and knowing that 75% of their starters are gone, and that our goalies are Hasek and Osgood, I'd say we're pretty screwed this year. I'm still shaking my head from Hasek's resigning especially after the 6 millions dollar deal Detroit had with him to play one game and then be injured the rest of the season with a groin problem. What a joke, send him back to Ottawa!

IF they make the playoffs they wont make it to round 2 as for hasek he most likely will get an injury (but is it a real injury hmmm maybe he'll go sking when he is on the DL)

They only had a good year last year because their schedule had them playing weak teams. When they got in the playoffs they were quickly exposed.Hell, when Wellwood scored in the shoot out the other night they shut the lights off right away to try to avoid a replay, and that was preseason..classy..Can you tell i miss the Wings games?..lol..i do, really..Bettman has things so screwed up with this inter-conference play , it sucks.
