O.K., if you go missing and are declared dead, and you show up again, what happens? Do you need to get a new birth certificate, I.D., etc. then are you considered to be at age 0? Stuff like that.

Why are you thinking it is me that is missing? You people are weird. You always asume the question has something to do with the asker. So, if you had no family, wouldent the government had sold all of your stuff? How would you get it back? How would you go about support yourself?

I am sure there would be an investigation into exactly why you disappeared, Where you had been and why you had not contacted anyone. You would have to reestablish your existance and have the death ruling resended. I am willing to bet that if you do not have a legitmate reason for being "missing" you stand a good chance of being in legal trouble for fraud.

If you show up in a beard and have a deep voice do you REALLY think they will issue you a birth certificate and say you are 0?

Hmmm! Why did you go missing? If you were missing you would probably have to be declared undead. :-)

That would reverse everything, including any payouts on account of your being declared dead.

Better to remain dead on paper. It's cheaper for all concerned.

There is a statutory period of wait before you can be declared legally dead. Even after that if there are no benificiaries, I do think the government cannot simply dispose off your properties just like that.

I wasn't thinking about properties and the like, as usually the plan is for insurance claims where a court has to declare a person legally dead before the spouse or beneficiary can start a claim. Properties can wait.

Sorry chum if I ruffled your feathers ;-).

All of your records stay intact after you die. There are a few different ways to be declared dead and unless a coroner has determined that your body has become a corpse. So a case where you were missing for a long time and thought to be dead, the case will be closed as an alleged death as a result of being a missing person. When you finally return to society you will just pick up where you left off.

That is a good question!!! I would think that you would have to go to court and get yourself declared undead (or whatever they would call that) I am sure that it would be a hassle and probably a lot of expense would be involved.

You will probably have to prove your identity and prove that you are not dead. The former should be easy. The latter may take some work...

Read John Grisham's novel, "The Partner". You may find it interesting, and it will answer a few questions anyway.

THE TRICKY PART WOULD BE THE LIFE INSURANCE PAID OUT TO THE FAMILY. ALSO IF THE SPOUSE HAD REMARRIED. BIRTH CERT. WOULD STILL BE THE SAME. THE S.S. NUMBER TOO.

You have to get a government issued Zombie license. If you don't then you are a terrorist.
