I LOVE drawing, but my drawings look like a 1 year old's.
Is there any way while you are young to fix this?

I think handcrafts will help it eventually. You will train yor muscles to be stable when it is necessary. I have shaky hands in general, but I've learned to do some precise lab work. Stabilizing (resting) your hand on the table surface while drawing usually helps, but it will give you smaller range of motion. You can quickly learn to be excellent at tiny drawings, but big ones will be a challenge for awhile.

Hi !
My hand still shakes sometimes when I draw to this day, but I really can put out some fantastic stuff. This is what I notice when my hand is shaking.
Either I'm holding my pencil too tight or i'm unsure of where my line is going.
The best way to get a nice exact line is to know where you want it to go.
Try this exercise. Use a ruler and draw one line down the centre of your page. Now try to make an equally as straight a line right beside it with out using a ruler.
You are young and over time as you are developing your talent your hands wont shake as much either.

When in doubt, ask a good doctor. Something is going on with your nerves. It could be excitement, so think of ways to calm yourself. Practise relaxtion techniques. Take some deep breaths. Try some hand exercises to distract you from shaking. Avoid alcohol, nicotine, caffine, sugar and chocolates. You might just be sensitive to that stuff. Try to reduce stress and just stay active. It could also be genetics, you might not be able to shake that...who cares what your drawings look like, just practice and you will learn. You will get better with time. Master the art of drawing with shaky hands.

First, you need to warm up before drawing anything serious. Spend a good 20 mins our so just drawing, after a while, if you are a serious art person, the shakes will go away. Also stay away from coffee, lol. But even with coffee your shakes will go down after a while. Remember, runners cant do there best without streching first!!!
Good luck!
Currahee out.

One of my customers has Cerebral Palsy and his hand movements are very spastic. He tried out some big graphite crayons (about the size of his thumb) and his drawings are awesome.
With a pencil, he draws very sketchily because he has to work so hard to hold the tool and it makes his hand shake more. But with the crayon, he draws from his shoulder, standing back and making big motions with his arm. The lines are very fluid. So your problem could be solved by using a larger drawing tool that you don't have to grip too tightly.
Try "Chubby Charcoal" or fat oil pastels if you can't find the graphite crayons - the bigger the better. Have fun, loosen up! Enjoy making big bold lines.

Try to change what you are drawing !! I suck at drawing people but give me an out door seen and I can make it come to life!!!!
If i was to draw a person it would be so good, (in less I cheat and trace) I am great with pastels, color pencils ( prisma colors) , Paint (tempera and water color) Clay's , and even worked with linoleum
Just play a round and get the feel and find out what you like, Just look around at some of the more expensive peices of art!! realy, to the untrained eye the can look like my brother did them! !!! but the can go for Thousands!!!!!!!

you might have shaky hands b/c of Parkinson's Disease. Go to your Doctor and have them check that out.
My ex was 16 when he got diagnosed, it usually runs in the family. Check your family history.
