one million two hundred fourteen thousand six hundred seventy nine and one thousand four hundred twenty firsts.

(I think---the decimal part is a little tricky, but the first trick to putting it in words is that the word AND doesn't come until you say the decimal part)

To read this properly you only use the word "and" where the decimal is - and you do NOT use the word "point" for the decimal. As an Algebra teacher, sometimes we say "point" when checking answers, but I stress to the students that it is NOT used in reading a number.
