Its hard to say i have'nt experience extreme pain inflicted by others. When rage comes to you because someone did you wrong you can never say i would just let it go. For example, if someone murdered my baby do you think i could stop myself from killing the bastard who did it? Can you just let it go? I myself don't know what i will be capable of but if it will appease my being and make my soul move on i will seek revenge may it be by my own brand of justice or by the law of men and society which ever oppurtunity present itself first to me.

There are many factors to consider if one does intend on taking revenge which may make the action immoral or justified.
My grandparents were murdered by my mother, aunts and uncles. They were killed by passive involuntary euthansia 5 - 6 years ago.
Yes, there are many times when I've been tempted to take the heads of my grandparents' murderers (Jewish and Islamic Laws justify an eye for an eye).
Now, even if I'm tempted, I'd rather not push through with it. Because there are more important things in life for me...my wife and baby daughter. They mean a lot to me and they need me to be with them. I can't be with them if I'm in prison or dead.
As long as the murderers of my grandparents don't show their faces to me or try to contact me in any way, shape or form, they will continue to live.
Allah knows of the crime they committed. Their time will come.

No, justice is best served by society and its laws and its punishment. Personal revenge is only harmfull to ones spirit.
