What's wrong with a first trimester cut-off?

Killing it after that is so gross, disgusting, horrifying and wrong.

auburn, if she is so clueless about everything, how do you know she's going to be alright living the rest of her life with the "choice" of an abortion--especially late , which is much more dangerous.
It looks like you already want to make the choice for her. Are you for the people around young women making choices for them?

I am pro-choice and I agree with restrictions as to when a women can receive an abortion; however, in cases of rape and if someone found out too late that they were pregnant I believe that should be taken into consideration. Also if the woman's health is in danger.

While performing abortions is ultimately the woman's right...It should be some what legally guarded...I am pro choice and will not judge a woman for deciding whats best for her...My own personal beliefs however, are to not let woman use abortion as a birth control method....Sometimes these situations are very much circumstantial and the woman must make a choice that is right for her body, fetus, and her life all together...Their are many things that could occur such as incest, rape, and death that i feel make a abortion much more appropriate...I do personally believe if a woman does want to have an abortion she should do it as early in the pregnancy as possible..but even in late pregnancy their may be circumstances that may occur that we as people not always understand that may make the woman to change her mind..It is ultimately better in the end to implement preventative measures so a pregnancy is avoided in the first place along with many other scary diseases as well...I as any human being have my own philosophies about abortion but as a general pro choice supporter I know it is only right for a woman to choose what is best for her....although i may not agree all the time it is not up to me to judge her......if harsh restrictions on abortions are implemented then the more illegal abortions are performed and that will only open up a whole new can of worms...

I think you are trying to generalise something that can be a different situation for everyone. Would you deny a young girl who has been raped and is too young to realise she is pregnant or doesnt know what to do about it, the chance at a normal life just because of your views and the fact that she is one week past the first trimester?
Unlike you and your small minded ideas I think young girls should have the right to an abortion if they want it. I also have a friend who was carrying a child with a disorder that made him make 100 times more flesh on his body than was normal. The doctors in their wisdom thought it was a unique thing to study so didnt tell his mother till it was too late for her to do anything about the pregnancy and that child was born and has had to live with being ridiculed because of his condition. He is in constant pain every day with skin blistering and when it is hot he sweats so badly that the smell make everyone around him queasy. He is not allowed out in the sun and cannot do the things normal kids do. ANd yes his mother would have had an abortion if she had been allowed as his life is not a pleasant one. So I think people like you should be in this situation and see what you would do before preaching your views to others.

I also did not state I would make the choice for anyone. That is what your opinion seems to be!

The more restrictions that are put on something like this, the more back alley illegal abortions will be performed. This is a fact proven time and again in history. The back alley abortions are much harder on the woman, and if a woman is determined to end a pregnancy, she will find a way. Since there would obviously be no regulations on back alley/illegal abortions, they may be performed until birth. It needs to be available for women who feel that this is the right choice in their lives. They may regret it later. They may not. But if they are desperate, they will find a way. This could cost them everything they have.

not every woman has a regular cycle and could have passed the 3 months cut off and been unaware she was pregnant-especially if she DID use birth control.
I do not believe abortion should be used to replace proven birth control methods but only when other proven effective birth control methods fail -if the woman CHOOSES to abort at that time.
BUT I will not Dictate to a Woman what is RIGHT for her. The choice to abort is a VERY difficult choice to make for a woman. It is not a pain-free emotionless procedure and for those that think it is are deluded.

Wouldn't it be better to respect and nurture the lives that are already here so abortion won't seem to be a valid option? Let's teach the boys not to pressure the girls into sex. Let's teach the girls that giving in to the guys is not love. Let's get universal health care so people won't be so desparate about getting rid of a baby. Don't just preach "don't do it!" Give options.

Killing is killing - whether you're 2 weeks along or 2 weeks postpartum. There are too many people out there who can't have kids of their own and who would love to adopt one of these victims. I had a friend who got pregnant while being raped and she still gave the baby to a loving home instead of murdering it. Anyone who kills their own child, no matter what the circumstances is just plain selfish. Why should the mother's life hold more value than the child's?

NO THE WOMAN SHOULD MAKE HER OWN CHOICE SHE IS THE ONE WHOM WILL HAVE TO LIVE WITH IT. WOULD YOU LIKE SOMEONE TELLING YOU WHAT TO WEAR AND WHAT TO EAT WHO YOUR FRIENDS ARE??? I DON'T THINK SO . SO WHY SHOULD WE TELL A WOMAN WHAT TO DO WITH HER BODY.
