When I turn on my headlights I have no dashlights or running lights. When I turn my lights off, I have dash lights. I've replaced the headlight switch and checked bulbs, still no running lights or dashlights. I have brake lights and turn signal lights working. Do you know what else I can check to fix so I can drive at night?

The fuse is good.

1. Check all the fuses, it may be a different one than what your looking at. usually when the dash lights go out it's an indication that there is a problem with your taillights.

2. Did you recently have a car stereo installed? Sometimes when the ground wire is not installed correctly it'll knock out the tail lights or the dash lights. If this is so than have them disconnect the ground wire to the stereo and ground it directly to the metal under the dashboard.

3. Did you try turning up the dashboard dimmer switch? It's part of the Headlight switch. If you did, then ignore this one.

Im going to go with the wires at the switch, the hot wire for the running lights in the "headlight on" position on the harness. I bet its either corroded, crimped or not connecting well. I would pull the switch and play with the connector and wires with the headlights on and see if they will flicker or come on to show you whats going on. Good Luck!

i own a repair shop,,and its not a fuse that's for sure id try and see if i had any broken ground wires on it that will cause it to do this i had one similar to this that did the same thing it wasn't grounding good enough, there are ground wires all over this vehicle that could have come loose or just have a little corrosion on them,if you don't find it ,,you may have to take it and have it checked out by a good mechanic, they may be able to go right to it,,there are a lot of ground wires that are up in under the dash area,,it could be any one of them causing it to do this ,,good luck finding it,,i hope this help,s.

Could be a bad relay switch.
