I am a very computer-literate guy, but every time I have tried to view a PDF on my Palm TX it has given me an error. And when I try to launch Acrobat from my Palm OS, it gives me an error.

I would like to have the ability to look at PDFs on my handheld because I work in advertising and receive many PDF ad proofs in my email each day. I have re-installed and tried different versions to no avail. I am running Palm OS 4.5.2 and I purchased the device about three months ago.

Does anyone have suggestions? Similar experiences?

Sorry - you are right (although a bit smug for some online stranger). I am running Palm OS Garnet v 5.4 on this device. I was looking at the wrong "About" screen. =)

Also... just for fun... I didn't know that an iMac could run *ANY* OS without crashing or overheating. My experience is that if you have the money to purchase an iMac, you might as well upgrade to the PowerMac/Mac Pro and get some real bang for your buck.

You meant Palm OS 5.4.2, Palm TX doesn't run OS 4, it is like saying an iMac G5 running MacOS 6, not going to happen; Palm TX is one of few that can have 480x320 screen.

There are two Acrobat Reader for Palm programs, one is official Adobe programs, I assume this is the one that is giving you trouble. My advice is to get PalmPDF; a free port of an xPDF program for Linux; it is as powerful as a desktop program, ran it before, flawless, though to view one PDF as it is to be as printed pamphlet, you may have to overclock the XScale 312 MHz CPU inside the TX, otherwise settle for grayscale or some reduced view.

No, it truly is the Plains right here, we are very nearly in Oklahoma. you opt for palm trees, think about to make a lengthy automobile holiday to the Gulf Coast or the Rio Grande Valley. Dallas isn't palm tree land.

Do try PalmPDF. It has always worked great for me.

Best wishes!
