The answer is absolutely 2 2/9 (two and two ninths)
Forget the fraction just subtract 7 from 9 and carry down the fraction. When the number you're subtracting doesn't have a fraction you don't have to worry about it. Just carry it down and do the simple math.

9 2/9 is 83/9, cuz there is 9 "9/9", (which is 1) and a 2/9. so 9 "9/9" is 81/9 plus a 2/9 equals 83/9. Then 7 equals 7 "9/9"(which is again 1, 9/9 is the same thing as 1), so 7 "9/9" is 63/9. 83/9-63/9 equals to 20/9. U can leave it like this or simplify it, thus becoming 2 2/9. (2 "9/9" plus 2/9.)
Seriously, do ur own work next time.

Picture this (see it in your mind's eye or draw a picture)

You have 10 pie pans full of lovely apple pie. Each pie is cut into 9 pieces. When you weren't looking, someone came along and ate 7 pieces of one of the pies. That leaves you with 9 whole pies and one pie with 2 out of 9 pieces (9 2/9). You run off to find out who ate those 7 pieces. While you're gone, someone else comes along and steals 7 whole pies. Now how many pies and pieces do you have left?

Of course, you can also think of it the other way around -- how many pies and pieces would you have to add to 7 pies to get a total of 9 whole pies and 2/9 of a pie?

9(2/9)-7=
83/9-7=
83/9-63/9=
20/9

ive always learned to keep it at 20/9....i dont like mixed fractions but if ur teacher wants it as mixed or decimals:
20/9 = 2(2/9) = 2.222222222222222222222

you first just bring down the 2/9 because there's nothing to subtract from it. Then, just do 9-7=2

Your answer is 2 2/9
