Aside from the fact that they are in two different states, Hollywood is located in an area that is different topographically than mcallen. Whereas McAllen is located in a flat area, Hollywood is located in an area with more topographical variation (i.e., hills and mountains). Hollywood is also closer to the ocean than McAllen, and has a much more temperate climate (with actual seasons, even if there are only two).
