It all depends if this is your first or second or so on. Cause it could be minutes from hours to days before you actually give birth to your baby. Because every woman is different. When I lost my mucus plug I had my son a week later if that tells you anything. Hope this helps!

I lost my mucus plug with my first child when i was about 36 weeks but i didn't go into labor at all! I ended up carrying her 42 weeks and the dr. induced my labor for 3 days and broke my water but I still ended up with a c-section because my body didn't want to cooperate! I think everyone is different and i wish you better luck than I did. I'm 35 weeks pregnant with my second and i'm having a planned c-section this time.

The mucous plug, or sometimes called bloody show, can begin to leak out when the cervix starts to soften in preparation for labor. It can also come out in one big chunk. Unfortunately there is no exact way to know when you will go into labor. Loss of the mucous plug can occur the day of labor onset or it can take days or even weeks before labor begins.

Generally, it means you'll probably go into labor in the next few days.
That being said, I lost my mucus plug over six weeks before I went into labor.

With me it was a couple of hours. But its different with everyone. Did your water break? If it did, then probably sooner than later. Pack your bags and be ready.
