I have been sooo scared of worms my whole life, but I love to fish and I bought my son a snake and I am fine with that. What is such a phobia called and is it common?

I know it is stupid to be affraid of the most harmless creature on earth but I am scared of them and I don't know why.I do know that they will not hurt me I just get bad feelings like they can suck my skin if I hold them and I even have a hard time walking outside when it is raining. Weird, HUH!!!

It makes no sense to me because a worm is basically just a puffed out line. Unless they look really wierd I don't even think they can bite at all. If a worm touches you, what do you imagine will happen? To me its like being afraid of those little bouncy balls. They just basically sit there and they are round, but that is it. Same thing as worms.

No, i'm no longer afraid of worms. you comprehend what i'm kinda afraid of nonetheless? vast trojan horse!! that huge dude from the movie "Friday" with Ice cube and Chris Tucker. bear in mind vast trojan horse, he had that low rider vehicle and threatened to kill Smokey if he did no longer have his money! Now, he's kinda frightening! :-)
