Its most likely due to bacteria in the colon.

One probable cause (but not guaranteed) is colitis: inflamation of the colon. (That's the bit of the large intestine inside past your anus.) If this is inflamed, then you can have sudden, sometimes violent diahrrea and/or frequent gas.

It's not technically life threatening, but you should see a doctor as soon as possible to get this problem diagnosed. Every time you have diahrrea, you are losing lots of water that would normally be absorbed by the large intestine. So this is taking its toll on your entire body and it won't go away without medical help. Sorry to give you bad news, but remember that this is only probable and you might have a bad cold--your doctor will be able to tell.

Lastly, try some Imodium instead of Pepto. Pepto is more for your stomach, while Imodium will plug you up. Too much will lead to problems, hence seeing that doctor. Good luck!

EDIT: Irritable Bowl Syndrome is a lighter version of colitis. Same result--see that doctor.

That's no good. Be sure to drink lots of water to keep yourself hydrated and avoid any other problems.
Try keeping a food diary and record any symptoms in it as well. If it doesn't go away on its own soon you should go to your doctor and see if he can figure something out. You might be able to figure out an allergy or something on your own with the food diary, but if not it'll be a huge help for the doctor.

Could be many things. A virus, bad case of stress, etc... After my son was born I developed IBS with diarrhea. Doctor suggested Metamucil, works for me just had to start it slow because of gas but got over that. Watch your fat/fried food intake.Could be milk intolerance too.

try buying some anti-diarrhea pills from the drug store. It helps me out alot.....but you could have IBS (irritable bowel syndrome). If the pills don't help, go to the doctor and talk to them.
