I am 18 weeks pregnant with my first child, and I havent felt the baby kick yet. Around what week will I? My doctor said that the baby was growing and healthy at my last months appointment, but I am worried that I havent felt the baby moving yet. I have another appointment tomorrow afternoon and I am worried that something could be wrong with the baby, and that would be why I havent felt it move yet. Could he/she be moving and I not even know it?

Since this is your first pregnancy, it will be much later - around 24 weeks or so - you will feel it like a flutter/ as if you have indigestion or gas.

Don't worry - every pregnant woman has same fears as you do - if you had any problems, you would be having cramps/ bleeding or some sort of signs that things are not right. But just relax, eat healthy and exercise.

(if you stay in the US, I know that any hospital with check you if you go to emergency and tell them your fears- they will not turn you away and mostly insurance does cover this as well)

Don't worry if the baby is not kicking yet. Remember every woman is different. With my first pregnancy, my son did not start kicking until I was 6 months into the pregnancy. Now I am pregnant for the second time and my baby starting kicking when I turned 4 months into the pregnancy. For some ppl it can take up to 7 months into the pregnancy for the baby to kick. If the doctor tells you everything is okay and the heartbeat sounds good then don't worry yourself too much. I was also anxious for my baby to kick the first time I was pregnant.

Ever heard about women that have baby's and NEVER knew they were pregnant??? well thats probably because thier baby didn't move that often or it wasn't that strong. Every pregnancy is diffrent ( I know you hear that all the time) my first child was perfect I didnt get morning sickness, no heart burn, I ran rescue calls with ems (in fact I was a week late and ran one 12 hrs before I went into labor!!!!) I'm 32 weeks now and I have had IT ALL! I mean everything you can name that is wrong with pregnancy almost... plus this one is kicking so hard I feel like she's either breaking my ribs or ripping out my intestions ... so take a deep breath I'm sure your fine! When are you due and is this your first??? well I hope all turns out well and that your pregnancy is smooth!

The baby has been moving since conception. I know it sounds weird but even at 6 or 7 weeks the baby moves around. By 12-13 weeks the baby is doing flips in you, you just can't feel it.

With your first baby you don't always know what to look for with regards to feeling the baby kick but at 18 weeks you're right on that "early" end of being able to feel it.

It really depends on how big of a girl you are. The more padding you got around the middle the longer it'll take to feel it for sure. I think with my first I was around 20 weeks or so.

babies start to move in The 8th week they make arm ad leg jerks in the 7th week by 8 weeks move the full body. they do not have harder bones and mussels and fat enough to feel the movement until 18 to 22 for 1st time pregnancy. They don't just start moving later in pregnancy they have already been making movements for a long time before moms feel it. I felt my 1t at 18 weeks my 2ed 16weeks this 3rd a tad at 14.5 weeks. First pregnancies are felt later. If no movement felt by 22 weeks that could be a problem. Just let your doc know he may do a ultersound to check on things.

yeah the baby would be moving without you feeling it. It will first feel like little air bubbles. And the times that they always seem to move are when you are going to bed, so before you go to bed drink a glass of cold water and chew on some ice, the baby will move from the cold in your tummy and you will feel it. Otherwise just lay down on your back in bed and you should feel something. Dont be too worried if you dont though, you might not feel anything for another couple of weeks. Goodluck and congratulations

Please don't listen to that loser Don, I didn't feel my last baby kick till about 23 weeks or so. Also when I went recently for an ultrasound with this baby I am having now, it was moving all around and I couldn't feel a thing. AS long as the heart is beating and the baby is growing you should be ok. Good luck, BTW I reported that jerk

I'm 35 weeks pregnant now and I didn't feel my baby until he was 23 or 24 weeks so don't worry. At first I couldn't even tell that the bubble popping feeling was him! Then it started to feel like my belly was a fish bowl and little fish were swimming in there. Now I almost wish I couldn't feel him because it hurts!! But anyways your baby is moving he/she just isn't taking up enough space for you to feel them! Good luck!

This happened to me when I was 18 weeks and around the 19 weeks I began to feel movement. Now that I am 33 weeks, I feel alot of movement. Don't worry your baby will move really soon...

Yes, it is possible you don't know the baby's moving yet. I am 33 weeks and didn't feel my baby start to move till I was 24 weeks. I was scared also, but everything was fine.
